The Board of Directors of the Essex Free Library voted (6-0-1) at their Feb. 17th meeting to ask the Town Manager to move the pro-merger sign that had been placed there to a more neutral location.

The website listed at the bottom of the banner has been promoting merger for more than a year and, according to the EFL BOD's meeting minutes, "was controversial and not suitable" for placement on Library property.

Typically, a sandwich board urging "VOTE" would appear in advance of Town Meeting Day.
